As 2025 draws to a close, we look back on a year defined by quality project delivery, national award recognition, meaningful community impact and continued investment in our people. From major project wins across healthcare, aviation, retail, commercial and defence, to strengthening our leadership team and advancing our CSR commitments, maintained carbon neutrality and we have also continued to expand our service offering in MEP design, commissioning management, verification and validation.

Strengthening Our Leadership and Our Business

This year saw a defining moment for us as we entered a new phase of growth as an Employee Owned Trust, reinforcing our leadership structure where Nick Till stepped up to Executive Chairman, David Cocksegde transitioned to Managing Director and further promotions to Directors for Darren Harbor, Jacqueline Tayler and Keith Broadfotte-Brown all to support long-term strategic ambitions that will guide the business into its next chapter.

We also celebrated team expansion across the year, welcoming new colleagues including Declan Riley, Carolina Ferreira, Oliver Taggart, Luke Cook, David Kennedy, Jack Steele and others who have already made a strong impact across our London and Manchester operations.

Award Success and Industry Recognition

Our commitment to technical excellence was recognised nationally at the Commissioning Specialists Association CSA Awards 2025, where we proudly won “Commissioning Provider of the Year.” The business was also named finalists across three other categories, demonstrating clear evidence of our position as leaders within the building services and commissioning industry.

Individual achievement also shone through the year, with our people earning prestigious CSA Grades including Grade A, Grade B, and CM1, CM2 and CM3 further strengthening our capability, competence and the quality of the service we deliver.

This was complemented by continued individual professional development, including a Level 3 Certificate in Domestic Energy Assessment enabling in-house SAP assessments, completion of PV Design & Simulation training to support future renewables projects, and the submission of an IET Chartership application, reflecting ongoing investment in expertise and service quality.

Investing in People and Inspiring the Next Generation

People sit at the heart of Banyards, and 2025 was filled with milestones:

  • Work anniversaries were recognised internally and long-standing dedication across the company was celebrated and at our Table 10 annual lunch.
  • We recognised strong performance through the quarterly Banyards Beacon Award and well done to our four winners, Dean Lawrence, Nancy Salmon, Paul Starkie and Keith Marsh.
  • Our Executive Chairman Nick Till visited London South Bank Technical College, inspiring future engineers and promoting career pathways in building services.
  • Several colleagues completed volunteering days, including supporting community programmes.
  • Our Manchester team completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks, battling harsh weather, raising funds and awareness for our staff chosen charity DEBRA.
  • Banyards Goes the Distance (BGTD) challenge returned, with the team completing 784.4 miles and raising £715 for DEBRA.

We also supported the transition of valued colleagues into retirement, celebrating contributions that helped shape the business we are today.

CSR and Community Impact

This year, we continued to strengthen our commitment to purposeful giving:

  • Welcoming ‘DEBRA’ as our charity partner for 2025/26.
  • Supporting Lapworth Cricket Club during their competitive season.
  • Donating time, expertise, and funds across multiple charitable initiatives, including ongoing partnership work with Hope4Malawi.

Thought Leadership and Expanding Our Services

We continued to add value for clients through insights and thought leadership, including publications on:

  • The Value of Peer Reviews in Building Services Design
  • Updates showcasing the critical role of commissioning verification and MEP validation in delivering efficient, sustainable buildings.

As project complexity grows, demand for robust, independent technical assurance continues to strengthen; an area Banyards is proud to lead.

Looking Ahead

2025 has been a landmark year across our business: expanding our project footprint, investing in people, winning awards, enhancing our leadership team and continuing to make a positive impact beyond our day-to-day delivery.

As we move into 2026, our focus remains the same:
delivering technical excellence, supporting our clients, empowering our people, and building a sustainable future for the industry.

Thank you to our clients, partners and our entire Banyards team for an exceptional year.

Here’s to an even stronger 2026!
