The team arrived at the Christie and met with Steph Bryant, our corporate fundraising coordinator, to hand over the cheque before the team were given a tour of the hospital, including the ‘coin wall’ for all fundraisers who have raised over £4,000 within a year.
A few of the many areas that receive funding via corporate fundraising, range from care, treatment and education to research and extra patient services including patients’ wellbeing and the use of music therapy and the ‘Artwork Project’, where patients have the opportunity to produce artwork that is shown on canvases throughout the hospital; this is then auctioned off at the annual Christie Ball in March to raise further funds for the charity.
The conservatory and the garden are recent additions to the site also funded by donations, where patients can relax and have a little respite from their treatment in more comfortable surroundings. The new outpatient’s department completed this year is a great showcase of modern technology and creates a spacious and comfortable environment for patients.
Neil Burdess commented “We all felt a great sense of achievement knowing that we have contributed to such a fantastic cause.”
