Throughout the fundraising year our staff have participated in all sorts of events, from coffee mornings via Teams, to penny drives, raffles and fun runs in costumes! All of our colleagues worked together to reach this fantastic total and we are proud of their hard work.
Today Steve Chandler, Kate Coughlan and Dave Cocksedge from Banyards (all working remotely) handed over a ‘virtual’ cheque for £4,167.15 to Mary Haisman from Demelza Hospice Care for Children. This money will provide just shy of 400 hours of care for children with terminal conditions, and their families, which will be especially useful during these challenging times.
Steve said: “Having seen the great work carried out by Demelza first hand, it’s a privilege to be part of the fund raising team at Banyards and I know that the monies raised will be put to good use helping those that really need it. Keep up the great work.”
Mary said: “We are grateful to have been partnered with Banyards over the last 12 months, raising vital funds and awareness for some of the most vulnerable children in society. The Covid-19 crisis has affected every aspect of our organisation’s work, so funding like this really does help us make a difference to children and families who have got a terminal condition, providing important, urgent support in the short term where it’s needed, but also trying to build a long-term vision of hope for a better future.“
