The University of Manchester MECD project has reached a significant milestone with the baton being passed from the Balfour Beatty Construction team with completed clean areas in Zone 1 and NG Baileys completing installation of the Zone 1 M&E systems. Andy Kinder (Balfour Beatty Project Director), Dean Banks (Balfour Beatty Chief Executive Office for UK Construction) and Mike Darlington (NG Baileys Managing Director) passed the baton to Tony Craig (from Banyards’ Commissioning Management team) where the project has reached the significant milestone of the first Air Handling Unit running on the project; the start marks the 11 month commissioning phase of the project.
Neil Burdess said “ We are delighted to accept the milestone baton and look forward to a successful commissioning period on the single largest home for engineering in any UK University. This will provide an environment that creates a sense of pride in the heritage and achievements of the University, while inspiring future generations of engineers to continue to innovate and pioneer discovery.”
