The architectural brief was to consolidate 2,500 innovators into one holistic new headquarters workplace consisting of 18,580 sq m for the technology company ARM Holdings to support its continued growth as a global leader in the technology sector. Located adjacent to the company’s existing HQ, the new facility enables ARM to increase its headcount in Cambridge to 3,000 people.
The project consists of two buildings A and B provided with their own central plant installation including roof mounted boilers, air cooled chillers and air handling plant. This centralised plant distributes low temperature hot water (LTHW) heating, chilled water, outside air for ventilation and toilet extract ventilation throughout each of the buildings via a number of services risers typically located adjacent to central cores or satellite stair cores. Heating & chilled water pipe work and outside air ventilation ductwork serves the ARM fit-out space.
