We are thrilled to announce Banyards have been appointed as the projects independent commissioning manager working for BAM construction on what will be the largest live music venue in the UK.
With a seating capacity of 23,500 Co-op Live also houses 28 suites, 12 lounges, 32 Bars and restaurants and club space. The new state of the art stadium with its innovative sound ‘bowl’ design is to be constructed from locally sourced materials and have a solar panel array on the roof equivalent to a football field and a half in size, while the toilets use rainwater to flush.
Due to open in 2023, the £350m Co-op Live arena is set to be one of the world’s most pioneering and sustainable venues, the developer Oak View Group (OVG) and their equal joint venture partner City Football Group (CFG) along with Co-op, their naming rights sponsor, have pledged that the project will support local suppliers, generating 3,350 jobs during the 3-year construction phase and 1,000 direct jobs once open.
Our commissioning management team will be involved from the design stage ensuring commissioning compliance all the way through construction to handover, monitoring commissioning via our Banyards Insite tracking system.
We are very pleased to be involved in this fantastic project.
