Last Friday, Nick Till (Banyards’ MD) joined 30 other industry leaders to offer 125 nervous Year 11’s a ‘real life’ interview experience at Broadwater School, Godalming.
Dan May from Ramsac, worked with Broadwater School to develop the programme to help the students understand the significance of conducting simulated interviews, giving them the opportunity to practice their engagement skills and ultimately feel more confident and less stressed when attending the real thing.
Each student was asked questions like, “How are you going to achieve your career ambitions?” and were asked to give examples of where they had managed a problem at home, school or work.
After a half hour session, the interviewers gave positive feedback to each student on how they represented themselves.
Nick said; “This is the first time I have participated, what a valuable experience for both students and business leaders. All the students were enthusiastic and conveyed confidence in their answers, I will definitely be happy to participate in this again.”
