Banyards take on The Yorkshire Three Peaks
The challenge is in support of our Annual sponsored charity. Chosen by our staff, DEBRA is a National medical research charity and patient support organisation for people living with the rare, extremely painful, genetic skin condition Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) Known as Butterfly skin.
“Living with EB is unimaginably tough, but the support from DEBRA makes a world of difference. Knowing that people care and are willing to help is a huge boost to the patients and families that live with this condition. We at Banyards are incredibly proud to stand with DEBRA and help make a real impact.”
The funds raised will go towards providing community care and support services to improve quality of life for people living with all types of inherited and acquired EB, it will also fund pioneering research to find effective treatments for all types of inherited EB.
Our brave and determined team of 8 will be strapping on their hiking boots, braving the elements, forfeiting their summer weekend (and their knees) and aim to complete 24 miles on foot, within 12 hours, with very little sleep and courtesy of a 5am departure. With varying levels of fitness within the team, this will be a challenge for many, but a proud team effort nonetheless!.
The blisters, aches and pains will be temporary for the Banyards team, but for people living with this brutal condition, the pain is relentless and debilitating , and something that EB patients must live with every single day.
We have the opportunity to help make a change, and fund research. Will you help us?
The team consists of:
Kallay Pearson
Mark Derbyshire
Paul Cairns
Rob Henrys
Lewis Helme
Tom Dunn
Patrick Barry

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is 24-miles (38.6km) round trip route, and includes 1585m (5200ft) of ascent.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres), usually in this order, and in under 12 hours. These hills form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Our target sponsorship for the challenge is £1,500.00, our biggest single event to date!.
We would greatly appreciate any support for our cause.
