This role has been created as a result of our continued company and team growth and represents an important step in strengthening our operational leadership capability. The successful candidate will play a key role in the Commissioning North team, supporting our future ambitions and helping us deliver against our Vision 2025–2028.
Commissioning Manager Accountabilities
To manage and oversee projects in terms of Commissioning Management and verification. To ensure our projects meet our client’s expectations in terms of project programme, compliance, quality, and safety. To manage the commissioning process ensuring all parties are working together to achieve the commissioning requirements.
- Overseeing the complete building commissioning process from start to finish
- Ability to lead and manage the commissioning process and effectively communicate with our clients through both verbal and written reports
- Developing commissioning plans, schedules, reports, check lists and test scripts
- To have full control of one of more projects and be responsible for these projects, ensuring you represent Banyards in the Banyards Way
- Documenting commissioning and installation progress
- Understanding the specific details and demands of our project briefs
- Conducting and documenting the results of inspections and tests as per Banyards site acceptance test (SATS)
- Managing and arranging testing requirements
- Maintain financial control by managing workload within agreed resource allowances (days) and highlighting any risks that may impact budget, profitability, or project delivery including and producing or obtaining work record sheets.
- Develop and coordinate the commissioning plan/strategy with project teams to achieve project objectives and programme requirements.
- Participating in project meetings as necessary
- Maintaining high standards to drive repeat business
- Providing technical support during client discussions
- Supplying weekly/monthly progress reports and producing final project report
- Conducting commissionability reports including technical evaluations of project schedules, drawings, and technical submissions
- Attending and report on offsite factory tests
- Liasing with third party witnessing agents and obtaining relevant sign off
- Working in line with Banyards safety policy
- Chairing of commissioning meetings with associated minutes
- Production and management of commissioning programmes (using Asta Power Project)
- Reviewing and commenting on M&E commissioning method statements
- Production and management of progress of tracking schedules Banyards insite
- Management and witnessing of Mechanical and Electrical static testing
- Management and witnessing of Mechanical and Electrical functional testing
- Management and coordination of cause and effect and integrated system testing
- Post-handover requirements such as seasonal testing and soft landings as required
- Being responsible for all aspects of site safety for yourself and others including risk assessments and toolbox talks
- Producing commissioning completion reports
- Adding time Access time sheet entry on weekly basis
- Complete site diaries weekly, as a minimum
- Knowledge of BREEAM, WELL, NABERS and LEED
- Competent level of Microsoft Office 365 Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and Project

Qualifications/Experience
- Mechanical or Electrical qualifications
- CM1 accredited, or actively working towards Commissioning Specialists Association CM1 status
- Completed 2-day Commissioning Management – Core Concepts course
- In depth technical expertise of mechanical and electrical building services systems
