David Cocksedge, Board Director with Banyards, is responsible for leading our Commissioning division throughout the UK. Based out of our London Office David runs the company’s key client accounts and is focused on driving the business forward by developing strong growth over the next phase of the company’s expansion.
David has over 30 years’ experience, across multiple sectors. Initially employed as a Commissioning Engineer he quickly progressed to running his own projects before diversifying into Commissioning Management running major projects such as Virgin Atlantic HQ (Crawley), Sanderson Hotel (London) and BP’s campus at Sunbury. From there David progressed his career with oversees work on hotel projects in Cairo and Lebanon; an office refurbishment for a major bank in Moscow and a large mixed development scheme in Poland. His career then diversified further when he applied his skills to Client Commissioning Validation roles which included the Bishops Square development where David was responsible for the Shell & Core contract before being taken across to Allen & Overy where our services were retained on the tenant fit out.
Over the years David has had an active role with the Commissioning Specialists Association and currently sits on their Technical Committee.
In addition, he is a current member of the Academy of Chief Executives and is active in all Banyards fundraising events for our chosen charity the ‘’Demelza’’.
Outside of work David spends his time socialising with his friends, family and children and partakes in the country pursuit of clay shooting and from time to time curses his golf clubs despite his claim to fame of driving the 10th Green at The Brabazon Golf Course at The Belfry.
