The Christie Proton Beam Therapy Centre

Banyards have been engaged by Interserve to deliver Commissioning Management services on the new £150m, five floor, High Energy Proton Beam Therapy Centre due to open its doors in 2018.

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust together with their partners, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust are working with the Department of Health to bring the UK's first high energy proton beam therapy centre to Manchester.

The new Therapy Centre will be able to treat up to 750 of the most complicated Cancer patients each year and employ about 160 staff.

Full Level 2 BIM is being used throughout the design process and the facility is being designed around the equipment to drive down the project costs.
