Andy Plews, part of our Manchester design team has been granted MIET (Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology) status. MIET is the first major stepping stone to becoming professionally registered as a Chartered Engineer. Members with the designatory letters MIET are recognised under EU Directive 2005/36/EU which enables professional qualifications to be recognised throughout the EU.
Becoming a Chartered Engineer is an internationally recognised sign of professional excellence and continuing development. Although the route to chartership traditionally assumes the applicant will have one or more degrees, this is not a pre-requisite to qualify. Andy has an ONC in Electrical Engineering and a HNC in Building Services Engineering as well as over 15 years of working experience. With the achievement of MIET he has gained acknowledgement of his expertise and commitment to continuing professional development.
