This weekend a team from Banyards took part in the "Night of Neon" sponsored walk around Salford Quays to raise money for The Christie Charity. With some sponsorship money still to come we are thrilled to announce that the team have raised over £1,200.00!
The intrepid team met at The Dock Yard Public House to dress up in their pink neon t-shirts, glo-sticks and glitter as well as multi coloured wigs and flashing trainers! After a few pictures and some further fund raising the team headed over the bridge to the stage area and start line where they took part in a fun warm up.
As they headed around the 5K / 10Km course they got to see the sites of the Salford Quays development, which is now home to the BBC and ITV studios. On route the team saw the Poppy display at the Imperial War Museum North and the BBC Sport team editing Match of the Day. The team were kept going by various Chrisite cheer leaders and a steel band which made this very worthwhile event even more memorable.
After completing the course and collecting their medals those who still had some energy went for a well-earned drink before finally retiring to bed.
Everyone at Banyards is incredibly proud of the team and we want to thank them for their fantastic achievement this weekend.
