Banyards are working alongside The Christie, as one of their ‘charity of the year' partners.
Nick Till (Banyards’ Managing Director), Neil Burdess and David Culshaw presented The Christie Charity with a cheque for £450, representing Banyards’ recent fundraising efforts. Pictures were taken outside the hospital and Nick was later given a tour of the Christie NHS Foundation Trust Proton Beam Therapy Centre project; one of only two facilities in the UK that can provide high-energy proton beam therapy to patients.
This innovative form of radiotherapy will enable the NHS to treat patients with some of the most complex forms of cancer, whilst reducing the potential long-term effects of conventional radiotherapy.
Nick Till said "Proton Beam Therapy is a major technical advance and Banyards were very proud to have lead the Commissioning Management for Interserve Engineering Services on the project. Many of us have a loved one or know someone that has been affected by cancer, we feel very strongly about helping the charity to raise as much money as possible.”
