The first of these is HSBC Project Peach on the Arena Central site in Birmingham, which will be the head office of its UK ring-fenced bank serving personal and business customers, under the HSBC UK brand.
Arena Central Development Limited (ACDL) / HSBC have engaged Banyards to undertake the Client Commissioning Validation / LEED CxA role on the new £100M Office development. Covering 220,000 sq/ft, this new 10 storey project encompassing both CAT A and CAT B phases, will target BREEAM Excellent and LEED Gold. Designed by renowned architect Ken Shuttleworth of Make Architects, the building has the capacity to accommodate up to 2,500 people and will be the first in Birmingham to be constructed to LEED (Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design) Gold accreditation.
The second, Project Cavendish is being constructed on the first phase of the Sheffield Retail Quarter.
Sheffield City Council and HSBC have engaged Banyards to undertake the Client Commissioning Validation / LEED CxA role on this new £90m project. In securing this pre-let HSBC will keep the remaining 2,700 HSBC Sheffield jobs based in the city for the long-term - and have the bank act as an ‘anchor tenant’ for the first phase of the retail quarter. It is the largest deal in Sheffield for over a decade and will deliver circa 165,000 sq/ft of Grade A offices and circa 57,000 sq/ft of new retail.
With the appointment across both HSBC projects it ensures continuity of professional commissioning verification and LEED CxA compliance.
