We are delighted to announce that Banyards have been appointed by Barclays to undertake the commissioning validation on project Grant at the Buchanan Wharf development in Glasgow. The tech hub will provide a 'state-of-the-art' workplace for the bank’s functions, technology and operations teams, which will create 2,500 jobs in the Scottish city.
Once complete, the hub will allow Barclays to double the size of its current Scottish workforce, making the bank one of Glasgow's biggest commercial employers.
The project was made possible by close collaboration with Scottish Enterprise and Glasgow City Council, both have been instrumental in turning the initial proposal into a viable scheme.
Barclays said the campus will play a pivotal role in the execution of its long-term strategic priorities. It will become one of a small number of key global sites, sitting alongside Whippany, New Jersey and Pune (India).
The new campus will strengthen Glasgow’s financial services sector and shows Scotland continues to be a highly attractive location for inward investment.
Banyards responsibilities will include full Client M&E Commissioning Validation including:
· Commissionability Reviews
· Detailed commissioning plans
· Fully logic linked commissioning programmes
· Innovative online Commissioning tracking system
· Witnessing of all M&E systems
