As a financial main player and one of the leading global investment institutions, any refurbishment to Morgan Stanley’s impressive UK Docklands offices must always be undertaken with minimal disruption to operational services. Our objective, throughout a substantial fit-out and refurbishment project, was to establish an efficient process for controlling the high volume of work permits being issued to those working on site.

e-permits software allowed the contractors, Bovis and ISG, to submit their Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Permit Requests on-line in a format that met Morgan Stanley’s stringent H&S requirements. It then provided the Authorised Persons with the management information to make informed and safe decisions.

The process was faster and more controlled than previous projects, met the stringent objectives Morgan Stanley set and has since been rolled out to their data centres where work authorisation and access control are critical.
