At the stage where electrical power was ready to be switched on, Banyard Solutions were invited to consolidate the many existing contractor regimes with one site-wide Permit to Work system. The intention was to channel the combined effort and cost into one improved control, management, information and – above all – safety system.

The benefits of introducing e-permits pleasantly surprised everyone. The system’s innovative software and tight management ensured that Risk assessments and Method statements were utilised to their best effect, keys and access were rigorously controlled, and management queries were answered promptly by the correctly appointed, informed, person.

Importantly, no major accidents resulted after e-permits’ introduction, proving once more that the system constituted a prudent and valuable choice. At the end of the project Colum Cantillon, Project Manager CWCL commented:
