Birmingham Magistrates' Courts
Banyard Associates have been appointed by Mouchel to provide Commissioning Validation Engineer services on behalf of HM Courts Service for the new Birmingham Magistrates' Courts. This new facility will replace the existing Magistrates’ Court accommodation within the Victoria Law Courts (VLC) which will be refurbished through a separate project. Construction will commence in March 2010 and run through to 2012.
The building consists of 24 court rooms, ancillary accommodation for staff, judiciary, witnesses, defendants, legal professionals and members of the public totaling approximately 20,600 sqm over 13 levels. The 24 courtrooms will be located over levels one to six with four courtrooms per floor. General administration and the judicial accommodation will be located on the upper four floors of the building. These will wrap around a central internal atrium to create a dynamic and interactive working environment.
Our appointment enhances our portfolio of courts projects following our role at the Manchester Civil Justice Centre.
