Banyard Consultants were appointed by Allen & Overy’s in-house project manager to provide technical support and perform the role of the client’s technical representative for the engineering services fit out installation for their new headquarters building at 1 Bishops Square, Spitalfields, London E1.
The building completion was phased to facilitate the early hand over of the technical IT spaces to the voice and data specialists, to allow them to be ready in time for the transfer of the staff into the new building as the leases on their original properties expired, and provides nearly 800,000sqft of fully fitted out air conditioned office accommodation for A&O’s legal business.
The installations comprised the amendment and extension of the original base build systems, the provision of a dedicated data centre (one of the largest of its type in the UK), 2 central equipment rooms, and new fit out services including central and distributed UPS systems, an additional 2MW standby generator incorporated into the existing 4 generator system, and 2 new 11kV sub stations to provide further power provision for A&O’s tenants.
